This, according to Forbes magazine's first-ever list of the best and worst franchises in America. The Forbes "best" and "worst" in franchising was created using intel and statistics from FRANdata, the only research and information company that exclusively studies franchising. FRANdata sifted through more than 3,000 chains, considering demand for the franchise brand, success of existing franchisees and franchisor support from the perspective of "lender friendliness." In addition, FRANdata examined each brand's growth and continuity rates over the 2008 and 2012 period.
